One of the great things about Affiliate Marketing is that affiliates rarely have to do any selling. Because they can be affiliated with some of the most well known brands, like Tesco, in the country (if not the world), the selling really does itself. While all in Affiliate Marketing should be wary of the term “passive income” (there’s nothing passive about the life of an Affiliate Marketeer), there’s no denying that allying yourself with some of the biggest names in the world does a lot of the heavy lifting for you. Affiliate marketing is not a “get rich quick” scheme and you should be wary of anyone who claims that it is. However, if you’re prepared to put in the effort building and maintaining your presence as an affiliate, it can certainly pay dividends. One of the keys to success, however, is allying yourself with the right brands.

Whether you’re a blogger, Youtuber or social media influencer, if your audience likes you and they like the brands you’re affiliated with, you are extremely well positioned for success.

Tesco Affiliate Campaigns

Why affiliate with Tesco?

One of the most important decisions you must make when choosing the path of an affiliate is finding a brand that’s relevant to the content you create and the audience that consumes it. The more harmonious this relationship, the better chance you stand of driving more traffic to your chosen brand and earning robust commissions.

This is easy for bloggers with a clear focus. For example, it’s a no-brainer that parenting blogs may want to partner with a baby food manufacturer or fitness blogs may want to affiliate with sports nutrition or leisurewear companies.

Plus, let’s not forget, Tesco is one of the biggest and most ubiquitous market presences in the country. With almost 7,000 stores all over the country and roughly half a million people in their employ, it’s hard to come up with a more well known and trusted brand. Plus, with their fingers in so many pies from groceries and clothing to consumer finance, choosing to affiliate with Tesco is a good fit for virtually anyone with a following.

If your following is interested in it, there’s a good chance that Tesco provides it.

So, hopefully you understand that Tesco is a great brand to pair yourself with, but which networks will allow you to do so? It’s worth noting that some networks will allow you to affiliate with certain subsections of Tescos operation, while others will not. That’s why we’ve broken down the following into sections. Simply choose the one that’s best for you and head on over to the appropriate network…

Tesco Groceries

This is quite probably the best fit for most affiliates because, let’s face it, who doesn’t have need of groceries? Their delivery plans are likely to be of use and value to virtually any target audience and their price match offer can even tempt audience members who are loyal to other supermarket brands. They have some pretty attractive commissions, too offering £6 for every single new customer referred.

Awin is the network to get on if you want to partner with Tesco groceries. They also offer;

  • Individual product promotions
  • Competitive prices that facilitate strong conversion rates
  • A robust range of customer benefits (such as Delivery Saver, Brand Guarantee, Clubcard Points)
  • Direct access to a dedicated TESCO affiliate team.

Tesco Mobile

Whoever your target audience is, it’s extremely likely that they will be regular mobile phone users. However, when they change their service provider to Tesco mobile they can avail themselves of some pretty attractive incentives. They were named the winners of four categories at the 2018 USwitch awards including;

  • Best network for customer service
  • Best pay monthly network
  • Best value- Pay monthly
  • Best high street retailer of the year

When you convince your audience to make the switch you can earn some equally attractive commissions. For every conversion you get the full value of a month’s contract fee. So if the referred party signs up to a contract that’s £30 a month, you make £30 for yourself.

Again, Awin is the network you need if you want to affiliate with Tesco Mobile.

Tesco Bank

While Awin is the exclusive affiliate program for Tesco groceries and mobile they have paired exclusively with Optimise as of 2015 for their banking affiliate programs.

Tesco may not be the most obvious choice when it comes to consumer finance but they offer some extremely competitive financial products including a robust range of loans, credit cards and even mortgages. Whatever your target audience’s financial circumstances there’s a good chance that they can find a financial product that benefits them.

F&F (Tesco clothing)

Unfortunately, Tesco no longer appear to sell their clothing brand F&F online, so the affiliate programs for this brand are no longer operating.

Alternative Affiliate Solutions

If, however, you want to affiliate with Tesco but you don’t want to manage multiple merchant relationships, you may wish to consider Skimlinks. Skimlinks offers affiliates instant access to literally thousands of affiliate programmes without having to seek approval from each advertiser. Please note that this only applies to content affiliates. Skimlinks offer affiliations with both Tesco Groceries and Tesco Mobile, although they do not have access to Tesco Bank. Please note that commission rates may be different on Skimlinks to those offered by going to networks like Awin directly.

Finally, as another option to promoting Tesco you might want to consider promoting campaigns that offer an incentive to the end user in the form of Tesco vouchers. For example competition campaigns, survey offers etc that offer the user the chance to win Tesco vouchers or earn vouchers that can be paid out in the form of Tesco vouchers. At WOW TRK we have several competition and survey campaigns and many offer supermarket vouchers as a user incentive.
