New Free Affiliate Tool: Link Search

Today we are launching Link Search, a free tool for affiliates to find the affiliate network linked to a tracking domain name.

Do you often come across affiliate tracking links and want to know which affiliate network or program owns and operates this tracking domain? Well Link Search solves this problem in seconds!

Link Search has more than 500 tracking domains in its database with more being added all the time. Thanks to WOW TRK’s Network Directory we already have full network profiles on more than 200 networks and utilising Network APIs, automation and AI we are pulling in more tracking domains regularly.

The concept is simple but after our affiliate team using this tool internally for the last 12 months we have found the tool to be invaluable to our workflows, saving huge amounts of time and helping us discover new networks to work with.

How It Works

It takes just seconds to find out the affiliate network behind a tracking domain name, here is a 34 second demo on how it works:

Just 3 simple steps:

Open Link Search

Just go to link.wowtrk.com any time you want to find the network behind a tracking domain name.

Search the Tracking Domain

Just enter in the tracking link or tracking domain into the search box and hit “Search for Network”.

View the Network

If the network is found you will get a pretty “Network Card” detailing information about the network. The amount of information will depend if the network is in the WOW TRK Network Directory, if it is you will see a result like the below:

What about masked affiliate links?

Don’t worry we have thought about that! Just enter that instead and Link Search will try to find the redirect and then search that instead. This is still in early stages, in our tests we found this only works about 60% of the time, we hope to improve on this over time.

We could solve this by having 2 different searches but we want to make using Link Search as effortless as possible without several drop downs or search options.

You simply enter any link and like magic it tells you what network or program its from. That’s the long term dream.

What happens if Link Search doesn’t recognise the tracking link?

One of two things will happen when we don’t know the tracking domain. Either it will come back to let you know we don’t know this tracking link and recommend sharing the answer with us if you know it (🙏🏻) or alternatively if Link Search finds the tracking link it doesn’t know redirects via another network that it does know, then it will show the affiliate network that the original network’s tracking link is using.

We realise this could be a little confusing so we plan to improve this over time if Link Search proves popular with affiliates.

Do you have an API?

You bet we do! If you are using automation to pull in tracking links, then you can utilise the Link Search API to automate finding out the affiliate network behind a tracking domain name. We even have a Make.com app so you can utilise the Link Search API in a no-code environment.

Whilst Link Search is entirely free to use, we have a small charge for API access. You can find out more about API access here.

Operate a Network or Program?

Getting listed is easy, just add your network to the Network Directory on WOW TRK and provide your tracking domain names when creating your network profile. Affiliates will then be easily able to discover your network from Link Search.

In the future affiliates will also see your review score from your listing as well. So we recommend encouraging affiliates to review your affiliate network on the Network Directory now ready for when review scores show on Link Search in the future.
