New: Performance Automation

Posted on Aug 21, 2018

Today we are introducing new performance automation to WOW TRK thanks to our back-end technology provider.

This new performance automation is to help improve the quality of the network by reducing large volumes of low performing traffic sent to our Advertisers and to automatically block incentive/fraudulent traffic.

Whilst we have had our fraud detection platform, WOW DETECT in place for a number of years, this system requires our team to manually review the flagged affiliates and take action. This can take longer than we would like to block an Affiliate from sending poor, incentive (when not allowed) or fraudulent traffic to an offer.

The longer invalid traffic is sent to our Advertisers the greater the burden on our Advertisers to review, reject and manage these invalid conversions.

With the new automation systems in place as of today, Affiliates will receive automated email notifications to let them know if they are close to being blocked from an offer due to different factors and if they are automatically blocked from an offer. Depending on the severity of the issue a warning email might be skipped and an Affiliate may receive a blocked notification without a warning.

Please ensure you whitelist our email with your email provider, to avoid these emails being blocked.

It is important to note that we have reviewed all traffic over the past few months and anticipate this to effect a very small proportion of our existing Affiliates. These Affiliates would have been manually contacted anyway about performance issues. This will mostly effect new Affiliates who sign up and very quickly send a large amount of low performing traffic or breach an offers terms by sending incentive traffic. Usually this would mean we have to manually review this and block the affiliate from the offer, whereas the new automation rules will do this automatically.

We will make tweaks and optimise the performance automation optimisation rules over time and in the near future we also plan to implement automation rules on a sub-affiliate level, in order to help our Affiliates better optimise their own sources.

If you have any questions or concerns about this don’t hesitate to contact your account manager or our general support team.
